Welcome to our lovely, small boutique-style guesthouse “Summerplace” which is offered to adults only. Here you will find a sanctuary to rejuvenate and relax. Enjoy unpolluted mountain air and breathtaking scenery of the Madeira countryside, hiking and levada walks that are on our doorstep, gracious accommodation, personalised service and good food. Our elevated position in a quaint rural hamlet allows for magnificent views of the pristine Madeira Nature Reserve and of the Ocean glistening in the background. Perfect for a romantic getaway! Souvenirs and artefacts from Africa, Asia, Europe and America collected by us on our travels adorn the Guesthouse. We welcome our discerning guests to a stylish and chic holiday refuge with all the modern conveniences such as high-speed internet access, free WI-FI, flat-screen satellite TV / radio, DVD player and infinity swimming pool.
We are unable to accommodate children under the age of 16 years.

We pride ourselves in creating a pleasant and warm atmosphere for you, with an eye for detail. All 5 rooms are en-suite with ample towels and toiletries to make your stay comfortable. Enjoy a fully-stocked mini bar that is replenished daily. In addition, our Deluxe Rooms also have terraces and either sea or mountain views.
For the nature-lover, the wonderful Madeira levada walks begin a short distance from here. There are hiking trails immediately behind the Guesthouse. The country air here is crisp and clean, a contrast to overcrowded and noisy Funchal.
Summerplace is owner-run and managed. Madeiran hotels are notorious for bad service. However we like to think we have taken the B&B (bed and breakfast) concept to a new level. We are able to offer an unrivaled personal service to all our guests. You will leave feeling rested, refreshed and invigorated. Our 2 lovely self-catering holiday cottages are completely independent from the Guesthouse. They are situated in the coastal town of Jardim do Mar – Madeira island. Please note they do not form part of the Summerplace Guesthouse property, and do not share the facilities offered by the Guesthouse.
